Saint Laurent Collège
Hedi Slimane, currently at Celine, was the creative director at Yves Saint Laurent from 2012 until 2016. His time at the house was marked by many bold, rebellious decisions, which resulted in polarized responses from the fashion community. He dropped Yves from the house’s name, relocated its atelier from Paris to Los Angeles, blurred gender lines with unisex ready-to-wear silhouettes, and infused all his collections with rock and roll aesthetics. Though many disagreed with his approach, he doubled Saint Laurent’s revenue and renewed its credibility among young consumers.
