Chanel Heels

In 1957, Coco Chanel introduced her first pair of heels. She called them the Two-Tone, but the press referred to them as “the new Cinderella slipper.” The Chanel Heels revolutionized women’s footwear, offering both style and comfort.

MORE ABOUT CHANEL HEELS

Coco color blocked the high heels, making them beige with a contrasting black toe cap. This created a very flattering effect, which elongated the legs and shortened the feet. She also gave them a slingback and chunky, sturdy heel, so they could be worn all day. When the two-tone pumps were first released, Coco commented, “We leave in the morning with a beige and black, we lunch with beige and black, we go to a cocktail party with the beige and black. We are dressed from morning to night!”

After Karl Lagerfeld took over as Chanel’s creative director, he sought to honor Coco’s heels, modernizing them with a black and white color scheme in Spring/Summer 1994 and transforming them into riding boots for Métiers d’Art in 2014. However, one of Coco’s (many) legendary designs, her original remain popular today.

Whether you are looking for a pair of the two-tone slingbacks or another style altogether, shop our selection of vintage Chanel Heels.

For a full, head-to-toe Chanel look, pair them with a tweed suit; for a more subtle look, wear them with cut-off denim and a knit. Either way, Chanel Heels are a capsule piece every style setter should have in their collection.
