Bottega Veneta The Knot

Former Creative Tomas Maier designed one of the most iconic clutches in 2001, the Bottega Veneta Knot. When looking through archival designs, Maier instantly saw the potential of the rounded box clutch from 1978. He then recreated the bag, giving it a new knot-shaped closure and naming it accordingly. The metal closure is detailed with the Intrecciato motif, which has since become a symbol of the House’s artisanship.

More about Bottega Veneta The Knot

The clutch has a framed hard-shell design commonly covered with Intrecciato-woven Nappa leather or satin detailed with snakeskin trim. With just enough room for your essentials, the Bottega Veneta Knot and its elongated sister, the Bottega Veneta Stretch Knot, are the ultimate evening bags.

The latest addition to the Knot family is the Chain Knot. Featuring a slim, lightweight strap that can be tucked away inside the bag, the Bottega Veneta Chain Knot is the perfect wedding companion. Put on your favorite flowy dress and transform the clutch into a shoulder bag or crossbody and dance the night away.

Since its debut, every Bottega Veneta collection has featured a new version of the Knot Clutch. Offered every season in limited editions and quantities, the Bottega Veneta Clutch is collectible. The bag has been reimagined in many ways, ranging from the Botanical Knot, decorated with meadow flowers, and the Butterfly Knot, featuring leather butterflies, to the Origami Knot, crafted from creased patent leather, and the Crystal Knot, embellished with small crystals. To celebrate this iconic bag, the House held a private museum-like exhibition (the Knot Retrospective) in its St. Tropez store in 2014, displaying over 300 variations of the clutch.
